2021 Syrah, Red Willow
Red Willow was the first vineyard in Washington to plant Syrah and it was first planted at a site there known as the Chapel Block. When I was learning about Washington wine I became enamored by many of the Syrahs produced from this site. They were so distinctive and intense. This is the first vintage where I feel like we nailed it, and the wine achieved the wild and mysterious quality that the site promises. This is the best vintage we have produced from the site and there is much going here, in terms of strength, grace, aroma and flavor. Syrah lovers will really enjoy this wine. 100% whole-cluster and aged 12 months in neutral French oak barrels. Native fermentation. Unfiltered. 13% abv.
